Gala Bingo Popular UK bingo brand Gala Bingo has recently announced plans for a complete overhaul of its brand and customer-facing site over the coming months. The firm is aiming to sell off a collection of its websites as it prepares itself for a major rebrand and revamping project.

Private equity owners of Gala Bingo for the past two years, Caledonia Investments, plan to sell off some of the brand’s sites, and also offer selected companies the option to take up excess space in several of the firm’s locations.

The last available financial figures available for Gala Bingo were released back in 2015, where the firm’s operating profits dropped by 5% to just £746,000. The company’s pre-tax profits also dropped considerably, decreasing from £40.9 million in 2014 to £1.9 million in 2015, which the company attributed to essential payments from other gaming group companies not being repeated.

Gala Bingo May Rebrand To ‘Buzz Bingo’

Potential buyers of the bingo brand’s sites currently include Nisa, Co-op, and Farm Foods. Furthermore, fitness firms The Gym and Gym Box have also been approached about whether they would be interested in purchasing any of Gala Bingo’s existing sites.

Sources have suggested that the name being considered for Gala Bingo’s rebranding venture is ‘Buzz Bingo’, although this has not yet been confirmed. A Gala spokeswoman declined to comment on the rebranding process, but did however note that the company has ‘always reviewed its estate’.

She noted that Gala regularly reviews its opportunities to invest in its estate and create more value-packed services for its customers. There could be occasions where the bingo firm could consider disposing of some of its gaming clubs, she revealed, but this will be decided on a case-by-case basis only.
